MiniMove vs Steppin
Steppin is a free app that trades steps for screen time (100 steps = 1 minute by default); MiniMove asks for one Move of 90 seconds or less (walking, squats, breathing or a glass of water) and then opens the app for a window you choose. Is Steppin free?
Yes: Steppin has been entirely free since May 2026. MiniMove's core loop is free forever too, with MiniMove+ as an option.
Does Steppin need the camera?
No: Steppin counts steps with your iPhone. MiniMove does not need the camera either, and its 100-steps Move uses the same pedometer.
Can I use Steppin and MiniMove together?
You can, but two gates on the same app add friction and can get in each other's way. Pick one tool per app: for example, keep one on the apps you want to pause and MiniMove on the apps you want to earn.
Which one works in French?
MiniMove. Steppin is available in English, German, Japanese and Spanish, not French (checked 27 September 2026).
Which one counts real usage time?
MiniMove: its windows count the minutes you actually spend in the app. Steppin banks minutes, and some reviews say its timer runs shorter than set.
